I am a Breastfeeding Consultant (23 years experience, of which 10 years as an IBCLC), a trained Counsellor (BA Psych
UP; Advanced Counselling UNISA), Certified Infant Massage Instructor, and Infant and Child CPR Instructor. In 2019 I trained as a Bereavement Facilitator, in order to assist families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss. I qualified as a Birth Doula in 2021.
I have a small practice in Stellenbosch, South Africa. My passion is to encourage attachment parenting and to support strong and healthy connection between parents and children. I have written a few books: Breastfeeding Basics (2020), How Babies and Toddlers Really Sleep (2014), Coping with Crying (2010), Breastfeeding Guide (co-authored, 2010), and Sleep Guide for Babies and Toddlers (2006).
I’ve been a mother for 30 years (three children and half a dozen foster babies), and I’ve been working with parents and babies for 25+ years.
